Locally, Gary France has been an active volunteer in the Wausau area and is a charter member and past president of the Wausau Early Bird Rotary Club. He is a past chair of The Newman Catholic School System and continues to work as a volunteer for that organization.
As a State Director, he served on the board of directors of both the National Propane Gas Association (NPGA) and the Wisconsin Propane Gas Association (WPGA). Nationally, he is chair of PropanePac, a member of the NPGA Government Affairs Committee and a member of the NPGA Member Services Committee. He was recently elected to the position of Treasurer of the NPGA Board of Directors. As Treasurer, he will be active on the Executive Committee of the Board and he takes the first step to becoming President of the NPGA in 2013.
In Wisconsin as a WPGA board member, Mr. France served as chair of the WPGA Legislative Committee and actively promoted political awareness and participation at both the state and national levels. Betsy Ahner, Executive Director of the WPGA said, “Gary’s long involvement and extensive knowledge of the NPGA, the propane industry, Wisconsin state government, and the WPGA make him a trusted advisor to the WPGA Board of Directors and their executive director. We are truly inspired by Gary’s enthusiasm and by the example he sets as a leader, businessman, and friend to us all.”
